TAWTEEN PROJECT

NORTH OIL COMPANY – JETTY BULK PLANT PROJECT NOC Jetty Bulk Plant is situated in Ras Laffan, Jetty area, Qatar, covering an area of 2310 sq.m.
It functions as a central hub for delivering drilling and completion fluids, along with blended cement, to all NOC offshore drilling operations.

As part of the Tawteen initiative, KBF designed and constructed the project with technical support from Halliburton. Additionally, KBF - HAL is responsible for operating and maintaining the plant for a period of 5 years.

The plant is fully equipped with safety measures and safety equipment, featuring two loading and unloading points where products are simultaneously received and shipped to vessels through manifolds.

It is equipped with ten 1000 bbl capacity storage tanks that store various types of brines, including NaCl, CaCal, and KCL. The brine levels in the tanks are monitored by level sensors connected to both the local display unit and central control unit.

These tanks are interconnected to three centrifugal pumps, facilitating the receipt, transfer, and delivery of brines to vessels at a pump rate of 25 bbl/hr. Moreover, the plant boasts 7 bulk silos, each with a capacity of 3000 cu.ft, to store dry bulk chemicals such as Barite, Bentonite, and Caco3.
It also includes 3 silos with a capacity of 3000 cu.ft and 2 silos with a capacity of 1500 cu.ft each to store blended cement.

The quantity of these chemicals is monitored by load cells. All silos are connected to a dust collector, and products are transferred to vessels using air compressors.

The operation of this plant commenced in October 2023, and it continues to support our client in enhancing productivity, reducing delivery times, and achieving cost savings.
